Synopsis As Introduced
If Senate Bill 2520 of the 95th General Assembly becomes law, amends the Chicago Police Article of the Illinois Pension Code to authorize an active member to establish service credit in 6-month increments for certain employment in a law enforcement capacity under the Chicago Municipal Article of the Code or as a law enforcement officer with any agency of the United States government. Amends the State Mandates Act to require implementation without reimbursement. Effective immediately.

Provides that if and only if Senate Bill 3514 (as amended by House Amendments Nos. 3, 4, and 5) becomes law, then the General Assembly, State Employees, State Universities, Downstate Teachers, and Judges Articles of the Illinois Pension Code are amended to require the recalculation and recertification of the amount of the required State contribution to the applicable funds for State fiscal year 2011 on April 1, 2011 (rather than June 15, 2010). Provides that if and only if Senate Bill 3514 (as amended by House Amendments Nos. 3, 4, and 5) becomes law, then the State Pension Funds Continuing Appropriation Act is amended to make conforming changes. Effective immediately or on the effective date of Senate Bill 3514 of the 96th General Assembly, whichever is later.
