Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Unified Code of Corrections. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning receiving procedures.

Senate Floor Amendment No. 1
Deletes reference to:
730 ILCS 5/3-8-1
Adds reference to:
730 ILCS 5/5-8-8 new

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Unified Code of Corrections. Creates the Illinois Sentencing Policy Advisory Council under the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court to review sentencing policies and practices and examine how these policies and practices impact the criminal justice system as a whole in the State of Illinois. Provides that the Council shall report in writing annually to the General Assembly, the Governor, and the Supreme Court. Repeals provisions on December 31, 2012. Effective immediately.
