Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Private Detective, Private Alarm, Private Security, Fingerprint Vendor, and Locksmith Act of 2004. In provisions concerning the qualifications for licensure as a private alarm contractor, provides that an applicant must have a minimum of 3 years experience during the 5 years immediately preceding the application (i) working as a full-time manager for a licensed private alarm contractor agency or (ii) working for a government or private entity that inspects, reviews, designs, sells, installs, operates, services, or monitors alarm systems that, in the judgment of the Board, satisfies the standards of alarm industry competence. Makes other changes concerning the experience requirements for licensure.

Provides that emergency communication systems, mass notification systems, and other electronic systems designed for the protection of life by indicating the existence of an emergency situation are included under the definition of "alarm system". Defines "emergency communication system" and "mass notification system". Provides that training may include the installation, repair, and maintenance of emergency communication and mass notification systems. Provides that persons who have no access to confidential or security information, who do not go to a client's or prospective client's residence or place of business, and who otherwise do not provide traditional security services are exempt from employee registration.
