Synopsis As Introduced Amends the Criminal Code of 1961. Provides that it is not a violation of the statutes concerning unlawful use of weapons and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon to carry or possess any pistol, revolver, stun gun, taser, or other firearm in one's dwelling. Effective immediately.
House Floor Amendment No. 1 Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Criminal Code of 1961. Provides that it is not a violation of the statutes concerning unlawful use of weapons and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon to carry or possess any pistol, revolver, stun gun or taser or other firearm in a legal dwelling or place where the person is an invitee therein. Effective immediately.
Senate Floor Amendment No. 3 Permits the carrying of a concealed firearm on the land or in the legal dwelling of another person as an invitee with that person's permission (rather than a place where the person is an invitee therein).
