Synopsis As Introduced Amends the Wildlife Code. Requires the Department of Natural Resources to issue free deer hunting permits to veterans who, according to the determination of the Veterans' Administration, as certified by the Department of Veterans' Affairs, are at least 30% disabled with service-related disabilities or in receipt of total disability pensions. Effective immediately.
House Floor Amendment No. 1 Further amends the Wildlife Code. Provides that a hunting permit shall be issued without charge to an Illinois resident veteran if (i) the Veterans' Administration determines and the Department of Veterans' Affairs certifies that the veteran is at least 100% (now, 30%) disabled with service-related disabilities or is in receipt of a total disability pension and (ii) the permit is currently available through the normal application process (now, there is not a requirement for the permit to be available through the normal application process).
