Synopsis As Introduced Reauthorizes the Long-Term Prisoners Study Committee created by House Joint Resolution 80 of the 94th General Assembly. Provides that the Committee shall report its findings and recommendations to the General Assembly on or before December 31, 2007.
House Committee Amendment No. 1 Replaces Resolution. Creates the Long-Term Prisoners Study Committee to examine whether life without parole and sentences over 30 years are necessary for public safety and are the best use of State funds. Report due by December 31, 2007.
Senate Committee Amendment No. 1 Changes the date by which the Committee must report its findings and recommendations to the General Assembly from December 31, 2007 to December 31, 2008.
