Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Department of Veterans Affairs Act. Provides that subject to appropriation, the Department shall increase by at least 80 beds the capacity of the Illinois Veterans Home at LaSalle and shall request and expend federal grants for this Veterans Home addition. Effective immediately.

 Fiscal Note (Department of Veterans' Affairs)
 If there are phases of construction involving the kitchen area, it could create extra expenditures of the dietary needs of the residents such as contracting with outside vendors for food service. Once construction is complete, there would have to be an additional appropriation for one time costs to furnish and equip the facility as well as increase in our yearly appropriation for the additional operating expenses such as an increase in staff and maintenance. At this time, we have no figures of that additional expense.
