Synopsis As Introduced Amends the Illinois Act on the Aging. Provides that beginning July 1, 2007, vendors of homemaker, chore, and housekeeping services shall receive a rate increase of $1.70 per hour if at least $1.00 of that increase is used to increase the wages of homemakers and chore housekeepers. Provides for subsequent rate increases. Requires vendors receiving this increase to submit proof to the Department that the vendors have increased homemakers' and chore housekeepers' wages by at least $1.00 per hour. Sets out methods for submitting proof. Effective July 1, 2007.
House Committee Amendment No. 1 Deletes provisions specifying the distribution of a rate increase for vendors of homemaker, chore, and housekeeping services.

The FY 2008 estimated cost of this rate increase is $37.4 million gross based on current projected homemaker units. In the subsequent two years, will be a minimum of $74.8 million, therefore; the overall three year cost will be $112.2 million.
