Synopsis As Introduced Amends the General Assembly Compensation Act. Provides that no public funds, including, but not limited to, funds appropriated for the pay and allowances of members of the General Assembly, shall be used to create a payout of money to any person involved with and relevant to allegations and investigations of sexual harassment by a member of the General Assembly. Makes conforming changes. Effective immediately.
House Committee Amendment No. 1 Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Re-inserts and modifies provisions concerning prohibition of sexual harassment payoffs. Provides that notwithstanding any other provision of law, no public funds, including, but not limited to, funds appropriated for General Assembly member office allowances, shall be paid to any person in exchange for his or her silence or inaction related to an allegation or investigation of sexual harassment committed or allegedly committed by a member of the General Assembly.
