Synopsis As Introduced Amends the Wildlife Code. Eliminates the hunting license fee for veterans and active-duty military members who hold a Firearm Owner's Identification Card.
House Committee Amendment No. 1 Changes the exemption from hunting license fees so that the exemption applies to active-duty military members only, rather than active-duty military members and veterans.
House Floor Amendment No. 3 Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Reinserts the provisions of the introduced bill with the following changes. Provides that no fee is imposed on any person who is currently serving on active-duty as a member of the Armed Forces of the United States or any reserve component of the Armed Forces of the Unites States (instead of veteran or active-duty military member). Requires the Department of Natural Resources to establish standards for the verification of active-duty service for purposes of obtaining a hunting license at no charge. Requires that the active-duty military member provide verification of active-duty service to the Department at the Department's office in Springfield.
