Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Vital Records Act. Provides that upon the State Registrar's establishment of an electronic reporting system for death registrations, the county clerk in the county in which a death occurred or the county clerk of the county where a decedent last resided shall be authorized to issue certifications of death records from the system and the State Registrar shall cause the system to provide for such capability. Effective immediately.

Senate Committee Amendment No. 1
Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Reinserts the contents of the bill as introduced with the following changes. Provides that county clerks of the county where a decedent last resided as indicated on the decedent's death certificate (instead of the county where a decedent last resided) shall be authorized to issue certifications of death records from the electronic reporting system upon establishment of the electronic reporting system but not later than January 1, 2011 (instead of upon establishment of the electronic reporting system).
