Synopsis As Introduced Amends the State Employees Group Insurance Act of 1971, the Counties Code, the Illinois Municipal Code, the School Code, the Illinois Insurance Code, the Health Maintenance Organization Act, the Voluntary Health Services Plans Act, and the Public Aid Code to provide coverage for heart disease prevention tests for women. Effective immediately.
House Committee Amendment No. 1 Changes the amendatory provisions in the Illinois Insurance Code to require coverage for diagnostic testing for cardiovascular disease for women if the diagnostic testing is ordered by a physician licensed to practice medicine in all its branches based on guidelines for preventative cardiovascular services issued by a nationally recognized medical society or federal government agency (was, coverage for heart disease prevention tests for women). Provides that there is no rulemaking authority under the amendatory Act, but that the Governor may suggest rules by filing them with the General Assembly and requesting that the General Assembly authorize such rulemaking by law, enact the suggested rules into law, or take other appropriate action in the General Assembly's discretion.
