Synopsis As Introduced Amends the Medical Assistance Article of the Illinois Public Aid Code. Provides that the minimum monthly personal needs allowance for a person who is an inpatient in an institution or facility for which payments are made under the Medical Assistance Article throughout a month, and who is determined to be eligible for medical assistance under that Article, is $50.

Implementation of HB 368 would raise the monthly personal needs allowance by $20 per month. Based on an estimated 45,300 residents, the annual cost to HFS is $10.9 million. Please note this bill also impacts the Department of Human Services.
