Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Public Utilities Act. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning the duties of public utilities.

House Committee Amendment No. 1
Deletes reference to:
220 ILCS 5/8-101from Ch. 111 2/3, par. 8-101
Adds reference to:
220 ILCS 5/9-201from Ch. 111 2/3, par. 9-201

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Public Utilities Act. Provides that tariffs for gas utilities designed to recover specified per customer revenue or revenue associated with specific usage levels shall not be permitted. Provides that existing tariffs for gas utilities designed to recover specified per customer revenue or revenue associated with specific usage levels shall be deemed invalid and cancelled upon the effective date of the amendatory Act. Provides that there is no rulemaking authority under the amendatory Act, but that the Governor may suggest rules by filing them with the General Assembly and requesting that the General Assembly authorize such rulemaking by law, enact the suggested rules into law, or take other appropriate action in the General Assembly's discretion. Effective immediately.
