Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Criminal Code of 1961. Provides that it is a Class 4 felony for a child sex offender to knowingly operate, manage, be employed by, or be associated with any local fair when persons under 18 years of age are present. Defines "local fair" as an event that is staged by a local municipality in which people gather to trade or display goods. Effective immediately.

Senate Committee Amendment No. 1
Provides that the limited definition of "sex offense" that applies to the prohibition of a child sex offender residing within 500 feet of playgrounds and certain facilities providing programs or services exclusively directed toward persons under 18 years of age also applies to a similar prohibition relating to local fairs.
