Synopsis As Introduced Amends the Department of Employment Security Law. Directs the Department of Employment Security to work with the Department of Healthcare and Family Services to identify employment opportunities in the State for persons who are in arrears in child support obligations.
House Floor Amendment No. 1 Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Reinserts the provisions of the introduced bill with the following changes: Provides that the Department of Employment Security may collaborate with (rather than shall work with) the Department of Healthcare and Family Services to identify employment opportunities in the State for persons who are in arrears in child support obligations. Effective January 1, 2024.
Senate Floor Amendment No. 1 Provides that the Department of Employment Security Law, in collaboration with the Department of Healthcare and Family Services and the Department of Central Management Services, shall implement a pilot program that seeks to connect parents in arrearage on child support obligations with work opportunities. Provides that the work opportunities provided to program participants shall include opportunities offered by employers located in the State of Illinois including, but not limited to, State employment. Provides that the pilot program shall end on June 30, 2025. Provides that no later than 60 days after the end of the pilot program, the Department shall provide a program report to the General Assembly. Provides that the provisions are repealed on January 1, 2026.
