Synopsis As Introduced Amends the Illinois Police Training Act. Authorizes the Illinois Law Enforcement Training Standards Board to initiate, administer, and conduct annual firearm certification courses for retired law enforcement officers that are qualified under federal law to carry a concealed weapon. Amends the Peace Officer Firearm Training Act. Provides that the annual range qualification for peace officers shall consist of range fire approved by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training Standards Board. Changes the definition of "peace officer" to include any retired law enforcement officer who is qualified under federal law to carry a concealed weapon. Amends the Intergovernmental Law Enforcement Officer's In-Service Training Act. Includes retired law enforcement officers qualified under federal law to carry a concealed weapon among the law enforcement personnel to whom a Mobile Team In-Service Training Unit may provide in-service training in order to be eligible for State funding. Effective July 1, 2005.
