Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Real Estate License Act of 2000. Makes a change to the licensure requirements for brokers. Removes a provision requiring that the 15 hours of situational and case study courses provide for instruction and real time discussion between the instructor and the students.

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Real Estate License Act of 2000. Defines "broker price opinion" and "comparative market analysis" and makes changes to the definition of "broker". Adds certain requirements a real estate broker or managing broker must meet when preparing or providing a broker price opinion. Removes provisions that prohibit a member of the Real Estate Administration and Disciplinary Board from serving more than 12 years. Amends the Real Estate Appraiser Licensing Act of 2002. Defines "broker price opinion" and "comparative market analysis". Makes changes to the definitions of "appraisal report" and "federal financial institutions regulatory agencies" and removes the definition of "modular course". Provides that the Act does not apply to a person who holds a valid license as a real estate broker or managing broker under the Real Estate License Act of 2000 who prepares or provides a broker price opinion or comparative market analysis. Makes changes to provisions regarding applications for State certified general real estate appraisers and adds the requirement that every applicant for licensure have his or her fingerprints submitted to the Department of State Police for the purposes of a criminal history records check. Makes changes to provisions regarding the Real Estate Appraisal Administration and Disciplinary Board.
