Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Private Detective, Private Alarm, Private Security, and Locksmith Act of 2004. Provides that person who has a minimum of 5 years experience working for a licensed private alarm contractor agency or for an entity that designs, sells, installs, services, or monitors alarm systems and who has successfully completed a National Institute for Certification of Engineering Technologies (NICET) level 2 certification examination may qualify for licensure as a private alarm contractor under the Act. Effective immediately.

Amends the Massage Licensing Act to provide for the licensure of an individual who failed to apply for licensure under the grandfathering provision of the Act within the time period specified, but who meets certain conditions and otherwise meets the qualifications of the provision, provided that the individual submits a completed application for licensure within 90 days after the effective date of the amendatory Act. Amends the Illinois Roofing Industry Licensing Act to allow the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation to issue a license under the Act, without examination, to any applicant who provides satisfactory proof to the Department that, on or before July 1, 2003, he or she had at least 20 years of licensed experience in the roofing industry. In the Private Detective, Private Alarm, Private Security, and Locksmith Act of 2004, provides that a person who has a minimum of 10 years (instead of 5 years) experience working for a licensed private alarm contractor agency or for an entity that designs, sells, installs, services, or monitors alarm systems may qualify for licensure as a private alarm contractor. Removes the requirement that such person also have successfully completed a National Institute for Certification of Engineering Technologies (NICET) level 2 certification examination.
