Synopsis As Introduced Creates the Supporting Aged Out Foster Care Children Task Force under the Department of Children and Family Services.
House Committee Amendment No. 2 Renames the Supporting Aged Out Foster Care Children Task Force as the Success by 25 Task Force. Provides that the primary focus of the Task Force is to identify programs that may be beneficial to young adults between the ages of 18 and 21 who are in the care of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services and the secondary focus is to examine new programs and laws for those young adults between the ages of 21 and 25 who were formerly in the care of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services to ensure their continued success for independent living. Provides that the Director of Children and Family Services shall choose the 2 members who are licensed social workers who work with children in at risk groups. Adds one representative from the Office of the Cook County Public Guardian appointed by the Director of Children and Family Services in consultation with the Cook County Public Guardian to the Task Force.
