Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Nursing Home Care Act. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning the short title.

Senate Floor Amendment No. 2
Deletes reference to:
210 ILCS 45/1-101
Adds reference to:
210 ILCS 85/10.10 new

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Hospital Licensing Act. Provides that every hospital shall implement a written hospital-wide staffing plan, recommended by a nursing care committee, that provides for minimum direct care professional registered nurse-to-patient staffing needs for each inpatient care unit. Sets forth certain items that must be included in the plan. Requires every hospital to have a nursing care committee, and sets forth the committee's functions. Effective January 1, 2008.
