SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Peggy Minch Rust Johnson of Bloomington,
4who passed away on November 26, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Peggy Johnson was born in Bloomington to Frank P.
6and Dorothy O. McBride Minch on December 14, 1928; she married
7Laurence A. "Larry" Rust Jr. on September 2, 1950; she later
8married Earle B. Johnson Sr. on April 30, 1972; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Peggy Johnson great pride in being a homemaker, in
10cooking, in raising her children, and in entertaining her
11friends and family; she also enjoyed her time traveling the
12world with her husband, Earle; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Peggy Johnson was a lifelong member of Second
14Presbyterian Church in Bloomington; she was also a member of
15the Antiquarian Club, the Bloomington Country Club, the Clio
16Club, and the Kappa Kappa Gamma Alumnae Association; she served
17on the board of the Mclean County Day Care Center; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Peggy Johnson was preceded in death by her first
19husband, Laurence; her second husband, Earle; her parents; her
20sisters, Beverly Vance, and Marcia Sandell; her stepson, Earle
21B. Johnson Jr.; and her son-in-law, Richard Templin; and

1    WHEREAS, Peggy Johnson is survived by her children and
2stepchildren, Ann (Mike) Sullivan, Catherine Templin,
3Elizabeth Rust, Laura (John) Dirks, Victoria Johnson (Salvador
4Codina), Julia Johnson, and Sheryl (Dean) Gmoser; her
5daughter-in-law, Margaret Johnson Greene; her grandchildren,
6Alison and Sarah Templin, Hilary (Joseph) Norton, Caroline
7Dirks, Peter Dirks, Amelia Dirks, Carrie (Adam) Carr, Jenny
8(Dan) Kling, Darby (Sean) McCollian, Susana Codina (Juanjoh
9Marimon), Elena Codina, David Gmoser (Beckie Roy), and Greg
10Gmoser; and her step-great-grandchildren, Caroline Carr, Katie
11Kling, Declan McCollian, Axel Codina Marimon, and Alexandra
12Gmoser; therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15Peggy Minch Rust Johnson, and extend our sincere condolences to
16her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
17further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Peggy Johnson as an expression of
20our deepest sympathy.
