SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Harry Gerecke of Bunker Hill, who passed
4away on November 14, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Harry Gerecke was born in Kampsville to Raymond
6and Theresa (Hartman) Gerecke on July 14, 1946; he married Mary
7Meyer at St. Anselm Church in Kampsville on December 11, 1965;
8and
 
9    WHEREAS, Harry Gerecke worked at Laclede Steel for 30 years
10and was a shop steward; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Harry Gerecke enjoyed fishing and hunting and
12loved his grandchildren; he loved sports of all kinds and was
13an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan; he was a member of St.
14Michael's Parish in Staunton; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Harry Gerecke was preceded in death by his parents
16and his brother, Joe Gerecke; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Harry Gerecke is survived by his wife, Mary; his
18children, Vera Gerecke, Rob Gerecke, Maggie (Terry) Brooks, and
19Tony (Juli) Gerecke; his grandchildren, Griffin and Garrett
20Brooks, Devyn Bryson, McKayla and Emmy Hanner, and Ashley,

1Katherine, and Jessie Gerecke; his brother, Charles (Joann)
2Gerecke; and his sister, Elsie (Charlie) Burge; therefore, be
3it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Harry Gerecke, and extend our sincere condolences to his
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Harry Gerecke as an expression of
11our deepest sympathy.
