SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Richard Russell Haefele, who passed away
4on September 11, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Richard Haefele was born on September 24, 1934 in
6Crystal Lake; his parents were Ruth and Ralph Haefele in
7Colorado Springs, Colorado; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Richard Haefele was a veteran of the United States
9Army; he graduated from Colorado State University, where he was
10a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Richard Haefele worked at Black Dot, Incorporated
12of Crystal Lake for over 30 years; he retired as the company's
13Vice President of Production; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Richard Haefele was a volunteer with the McHenry
15County Conservation District; he was active with the Boy Scouts
16and YMCA Adventure Guides; he also served on several committees
17at Resurrection Catholic Church in Woodstock, including the
18Stewardship, Plant Tenders, and Outreach to the Needy
19committees; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Richard Haefele was an avid golfer and loved

1gardening; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Richard Haefele was preceded in death by his
3parents; his brothers, Louis and Robert; and his sisters,
4Barbara and Nancy; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Richard Haefele is survived by his wife of 55
6years, Gayle; his daughter, Deanna (Brian) Berndt; his sons,
7Gregory (Gina), Richard (Lisa Selleg), and Douglas (Julie
8Havemeier); his grandchildren, Megan, Noah, Taylor, Carson,
9and Kendall; his sister-in-law, Francis; and several nieces and
10nephews; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
13family and friends, mourn the passing of Richard Russell
14Haefele; and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Richard Haefele as an expression of
17our sympathy.
