SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, Education is essential to putting children on the
3path to good jobs and a decent living; in order to remain
4competitive into the 21st century, the State of Illinois will
5need to equip the children of the next generation with the
6education and skills demanded by a modern economy; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Learning is a lifelong practice, not confined
8solely to the classroom; in every action, whether at work,
9play, or rest, it is the task of parents, teachers, and mentors
10to make sure children grow up practicing values such as
11independence, honesty, discipline, compassion, drive, and
12courage, while being ever mindful that it will always be a
13continuous process towards a more perfect union, and that much
14remains to be done to fulfill the concept of equality for all;
15and
 
16    WHEREAS, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the Lubavitcher
17Rebbe, worked to teach generations of young men and women the
18value of education and strong character; his work deepened the
19ties between people around the world and his legacy inspires
20the service, charity, and goodwill he championed in life;
21therefore, be it
 
22    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL

1ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that April 19, 2016 be
2recognized as Education and Sharing Day in the State of
3Illinois; and be it further
 
4    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
5presented to the Lubavitch-Chabad movement as a symbol of our
6respect and esteem.
