SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Emmett "Joe" Williams of Collinsville,
4who passed away on March 22, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Emmett Williams was born on October 8, 1943 in
6Granite City; his parents were John Harold and Jeanette "Jean"
7Williams; he married Barbara Sedabres on March 9, 1988, in St.
8Louis, Missouri; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Emmett Williams worked at American Steel for 25
10years and retired from Granite City Steel after 22 years of
11dedicated service as a millwright; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Emmett Williams served the Granite City community
13as a former fire and police commissioner and a precinct
14committeeman; he was also a former Cubmaster with the Boy
15Scouts of America and a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church
16in Granite City; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Emmett Williams enjoyed working bingo and
18spending time with his family and friends; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Emmett Williams was preceded in death by his
20parents; and

1    WHEREAS, Emmett Williams is survived by his beloved wife,
2Barbara; his children and their spouses, John and Gay Williams,
3David and Debbie Williams, Molly and Garrett Mullen, and Edward
4and Amy Morton; his grandchildren, Joshua and Kathy Williams,
5Jeremiah Williams, Zechariah Williams, Benjamin Williams,
6Connor Mullen, MaKenna Mullen, and Aiden Morton; his
7great-grandchild, Caleb Williams; his brother and
8sister-in-law, Jerry and Bonnie Williams; his many nieces and
9nephews; and his many other extended family members and
10friends; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
13family and friends, mourn the passing of Emmett "Joe" Williams;
14and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Emmett Williams as an expression of
17our sympathy.
