SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Eleanor A. Colombara of Collinsville, who
4passed away on January 15, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Eleanor Colombara was born on February 27, 1930;
6she married Joe Colombara in 1966; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Eleanor Colombara was a full-time teacher at Ss.
8Peter and Paul Catholic School for 48 years and a substitute
9for several more; she touched the lives of thousands of
10students and their families; Ss. Peter and Paul named her old
11classroom, room 2B, after her in 2014; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Eleanor Colombara worked weekends at Home
13Furniture for more than 45 years and kept the books at her
14church; she and her husband traveled the country, attending
15Joe's Navy ship reunions; she enjoyed cooking and was a charter
16member of the Legion of Mary and Eucharistic Minister at church
17and to the homebound; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Eleanor Colombara was preceded in death by her
19father, Peter Mikalauski, and her mother, Petronella (nee
20Buitkus) Mikalauski; and

1    WHEREAS, Eleanor Colombara is survived by her husband, Joe
2Colombara; her 3 children, Gary (Mary) Colombara, Tom (Cynthia)
3Colombara, and Linda (Robert) Colombara-Buffo; her 5
4grandchildren, Nicole (Grant) Kwon, Adrienne, Alexandra, and
5Tyler Colombara, and Brian (Dorothy) Wallheimer; and her 3
6great-grandchildren, Eleanor, Katherine, and Charles
7Wallheimer; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Eleanor A. Colombara, and extend our sincere condolences to her
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Eleanor Colombara as an expression
15of our deepest sympathy.
