SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Dr. Eric Douglas Dixon of Edwardsville,
4who passed away on January 17, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dr. Dixon was born in Jerseyville to Max Douglas
6and Susan Diane (nee Meuth) Dixon on December 10, 1984; he
7attended St. Francis/Holy Ghost Catholic Schools and graduated
8from Jersey Community High School in 2003, where he was a
9standout, 3-sport athlete, participating in basketball,
10baseball, and football; he attended Lewis & Clark Community
11College in Godfrey on a baseball scholarship, where he received
12his associate's degree; he then went on to attend Southeast
13Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri; he
14transferred to the Logan College of Chiropractic, where he
15finished his bachelor's degree in human biology; in August and
16December of 2011, he received his Doctorate of Chiropractic and
17his master's degree in sport science and rehabilitation
18respectively; while studying at Logan, he worked with college
19athletes from the surrounding area, including the University of
20Missouri and Missouri Baptist University; as a Logan student,
21he also managed the Disabled Ski Program at Hidden Valley Ski
22Resort; upon graduation, he was the sole recipient of the Sport
23Rehab Department Award; and

1    WHEREAS, Dr. Dixon's professional career took him to
2California, where he worked with a great team at LA Sports and
3Spine; in 2012, he returned to the area to start his own Sports
4Chiropractic/Performance Training facility in Edwardsville; he
5began SPORTCHIRO+ in November of 2012 and has been practicing
6ever since; he received his Certified Personal Training
7Certificate from the National Strength and Conditioning
8Association in 2012; he also developed Accelerate Health &
9Fitness Consulting in Edwardsville and was in the process of
10opening another gym in Jerseyville; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Dr. Dixon was recently invited to be part of the
12chiropractic team for the St. Louis Cardinals; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Dr. Dixon was preceded in death by his paternal
14grandparents, Durward "D.B." and Marjorie Toinette Dixon; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Dr. Dixon is survived by his parents; his sister,
16Lindsay Dixon; his brother, Alex Dixon; his grandparents,
17Cletus and Helen Meuth; and numerous loving aunts, uncles,
18cousins, friends, and professional colleagues; therefore, be
19it
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
21ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
22Dr. Eric Douglas Dixon, and extend our sincere condolences to
