SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Margaret Mary "Marge" (nee McDermott)
4Walsh, who passed away on January 16, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mary Walsh was born in Chicago on September 17,
61955; she graduated from DePaul University; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Mary Walsh worked for Catholic Charities, The
8Society of St. Vincent DePaul, the Portage Park Chamber of
9Commerce, the United States Army National Guard Bureau Family
10Program, Life Fitness, and Oakton Community College during her
1140-year professional career, while raising 5 children and being
12a grandmother to 10; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Mary Walsh was the founder of the Fellowship of
14Hope, a gynecological cancer awareness organization associated
15with Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge; she is
16the recipient of the United States Army Patriotic Civilian
17Service Award and received a Department of Defense Certificate
18of Appreciation for her service to the families of the 933rd
19Military Police Company serving in Iraq; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Mary Walsh was the beloved wife for over 38 years
21to Dr. Donald W. Walsh (Retired C.F.D. Chief); the loving

1mother of Meghann (David) Haisch, Maureen (John) Orrico,
2Michelle (Michael) Kendall, Sean (Lisa) Walsh, and Jonathan
3(Jessie) Walsh; the loving grandmother of Marina and Lillyanna
4Orrico, Donald, Maureen, and Jacob Haisch, Maeve, Fiona, and
5Kellen Kendall, and Adrianna and Savanna Walsh; the loving
6sister, aunt, cousin, and Godmother to the Walsh, McDermott,
7and Carr Families; the loving Family Readiness Group United
8States Army "Mom" of the 933rd Military Police Company in
9Chicago; and close friend to many world-wide; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Margaret Mary "Marge" Walsh, and extend our sincere condolences
13to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be
14it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Mary Walsh as an expression of our
17deepest sympathy.
