SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Jeanette Mary Harris of Pekin, who passed
4away on January 12, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jeanette Harris was born in Clinton, Iowa to
6Phillip A. and Edna Massad Shadid on November 30, 1939; she
7married John Alex Harris on June 14, 1959 in Peoria; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Jeanette Harris was employed at Pekin Community
9High School and CENTEL; she also worked at Maurie's in downtown
10Pekin; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Jeanette Harris was a member of All Saints Greek
12Orthodox Church in Peoria, where she was a former Sunday school
13teacher and had served on the parish council; she was a member
14of the Holy Cross Philoptochos Society, where she served as
15President for multiple terms; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Jeanette Harris enjoyed cooking and baking; her
17greatest joy was her family, especially her children and
18grandchildren; she had served as a room mother and PTA member
19and President at C.B. Smith School in Pekin for her children;

1    WHEREAS, Jeanette Harris was preceded in death by her
2husband, John; her parents; her sister, Louise Shadid; and her
32 brothers, Mitchell Shadid and William Shadid; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Jeanette Harris is survived by her 2 sons, Alex
5John (Meredith) Harris and Philip John Harris; her daughter,
6Andrea (Corey) Enderle; her 6 grandchildren, Allie Lindsey,
7Grace Harris, Melissa Harris, Jonathan Enderle, Noah Enderle,
8and Evan Enderle; her 3 sisters, Gladys Abraham, Pauline Unes,
9and Joan (Richard) Pettit; her 2 brothers, George (Lorraine)
10Shadid and Fred (Jean) Shadid; and many nieces and nephews;
11therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
14Jeanette Mary Harris, and extend our sincere condolences to her
15family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
16further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Jeanette Harris as an expression of
19our deepest sympathy.
