SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Joseph M. Valdes, Sr., II, who passed
4away on September 2, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Joseph Valdes, Sr., II was born on September 18,
61927 in Alton; his parents were Joseph and Amanda (nee
7Fernandes) Valdes, I; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Joseph Valdes, Sr., II served his country as a
9member of the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1955,
10achieving the rank of Airman First Class; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Joseph Valdes, Sr., II was employed as a laborer
12in the wire mill at Laclede Steel in Alton for 30 years until
13his retirement on March 1, 1986; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Joseph Valdes, Sr., II enjoyed improving his home,
15old cars, and animals; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Joseph Valdes, Sr., II was preceded in death by
17his parents; his wife, Verla Orban; and a son, Joseph J.
18Valdes, III; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Joseph Valdes, Sr., II is survived by his

1children, Louis (Ginny) Valdes, Ralph (Angela) Valdes, John J.
2Valdes, and Janice Valdes Sasik; his grandchildren, Christina
3(Cody) Vannoy, Eric Valdes, Amanda (Quinton) Ebbeler, Brad
4Valdes, Tina (James) Mathenia, Angel (Matt) Greeling, Jospeh
5Valdes, IV, Rafiel Valdes, Brittany Valdes, Cory Valdes, Matt,
6Slagg, Crystal (Scott) Stride, and Mellisa Valdes, and Amie
7Valdes and Rebeeca Sasik; 20 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers
8and a sister-in-law, Alfred Valdes and Fred and Beverly Valdez;
9several nieces and nephews; and his lifetime friend, Dorthy
10Kemp; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
13family and friends, mourn the passing of Joseph M. Valdes, Sr.,
14II; and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Joseph Valdes, Sr., II as an
17expression of our sympathy.
