SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Margaret L. Schulz, who passed away on
4September 4, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Margaret Schulz was born on June 17, 1924 in
6Roxana; her parents were August H. and Mary (nee Jaros)
7Astroth; she married Alfred F. Schulz on July 8, 1944 at St.
8Mary's Catholic Church in Alton; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Margaret Schulz was a member of St. Mary's
10Catholic Church; she was also a 62-year member of the Alton
11Daughters of Isabella, St. Ann's Auxiliary, Friends &
12Neighbors, New Beginnings, and LIFT groups; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Margaret Schulz enjoyed playing pinochle with her
14cousins for 30 years and playing bunco with her family and
15friends for 28 years; she was most proud of her Pinochle Club,
16which she belonged to for 62 years with her sister and her good
17friends, Pat Saale, Marge McGraw, Therese Schulz, Norma Fisher,
18Pat Fischer, Mary Eileen Deem, Meredith Arnold, and Joan
19Paddock; she was also an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Margaret Schulz was preceded in death by her
21parents; her husband, Alfred; 3 brothers, Richard Astroth,

1Lavere "Liz" (Jean) Astroth, and Joseph Astroth; a
2sister-in-law, Jeannie Astroth; and a brother-in-law, Carl
3Saale; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Margaret Schulz is survived by 7 children, Alfred
5D. "Bo" (Norma) Schulz, Steve (Jane) Schulz, Debbie (Chris)
6Schuneman, Bob (Debbie) Schulz, Mary Ann (Gary) Morris, Nancy
7(Joe) Scyoc, and Wayne "Gerry" (Linda) Schulz; 28
8grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert
9Astroth; a sister, Patricia Saale; and a sister-in-law,
10Marjorie Astroth; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
13family and friends, mourn the passing of Margaret L. Schulz;
14and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Margaret Schulz as an expression of
17our sympathy.
