SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Thomas Ronald "T. Ron" Jasinski-Herbert
4of Chicago, who passed away on August 17, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Thomas Jasinski-Herbert was born on November 1,
61938; he earned a Bachelor of Arts, a Bachelor of Laws, and a
7Juris Doctor, all from DePaul University; he remained an active
8alumnus; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Thomas Jasinski-Herbert practiced law in his
10office on Milwaukee Avenue; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Thomas Jasinski-Herbert was President of
12Ameripol, Corporation, Inc.; President of the Polonia Media
13Network; Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of "Polonia Today";
14President of the Polish Arts Club of Chicago; past President
15and Advocate of the Chicago Society PNA; founding President and
16member of the Board of the Chicago Society Foundation; Director
17of the International Polka Association; Director of the Polish
18American Congress; former Director of Public Relations of the
19Polish National Alliance; founder, along with his mother Lee
20Herbert, of the Heritage Club of Polish Americans; past
21President of the Advocates Society; past Director of the Polish
22National Alliance; past Director of the Polish American

1Congress, Illinois Division; founder and President of ETC
2(Ethnic Television Channel); candidate for Clerk of the City of
3Chicago; active member of various Democratic Party
4organizations; producer of several documentaries on Polish
5topics; television, print, and online journalist; and social
6and political commentator; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Thomas Jasinski-Herbert led tours to Poland,
8Germany, and Russia and was fluent in all 3 languages; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Thomas Jasinski-Herbert was the beloved son of the
10late Leona "Lee" Jasinski Herbert and the late Thomas H.
11Herbert; the cherished nephew and godson of Loretta Sobocinski
12"Lori Sobin" and nephew of Michael K. (the late Rosemary)
13Jasinski; the devoted cousin of Karen Mackay, Jeanine (Richard)
14Galati, Patricia (Ken) Brendecke, the late Suzanne Luckew, and
15many others across the country; he also leaves behind a myriad
16of lifelong friends in Chicago and around the world; therefore,
17be it
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
19ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
20Thomas Ronald "T. Ron" Jasinski-Herbert, and extend our sincere
21condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
22him; and be it further

1    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2presented to the family of Thomas Jasinski-Herbert as an
3expression of our deepest sympathy.
