SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Maurie Berman; and
 
4    WHEREAS, In May of 1948, Maurie Berman and his wife,
5Flaurie, founded Chicago's iconic Superdawg Drive-In and
6operated it for the next 67 years; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Maurie Berman is survived by his loving wife, best
8friend, and business partner of 68 years, Flo "Flaurie" (nee
9Miska); he was the cherished father of Scott (Terry), Myles
10"Mush", and Lisa (Don) Drucker; the adoring grandfather of
11Alyssa "Lyssi" (Jordan), Laura (Ben), Max, Steffie, and Ross;
12the great-grandfather of Talia; the beloved brother of Rosa
13(Jerry) Burkman; the beloved father-in-law of Pat Garcia (Julie
14Barton); the grandfather-figure to Livi Barton; and Uncle
15Maurie to many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
17ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
18Maurie Berman, and extend our sincere condolences to his
19family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
20further
 
21    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
