SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Raymond C. Manns of Godfrey, who passed
4away on April 21, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Raymond Manns was born on July 2, 1921 to William
6and Theresa (nee Wegener) Manns; he served in the Army-Air
7Corps during World War II; he married Helen Novotny on
8September 23, 1950 at St. Alphonsus Church in Brighton; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Raymond Manns retired from the Mississippi Lime
10Co. after over 40 years of service; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Raymond Manns was a lifelong member of St. Mary's
12Catholic Church in Alton; he loved to paint and play piano and
13sang in the church choir for over 50 years; he also enjoyed
14crossword puzzles, reading, and bowling; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Raymond Manns was preceded in death by his
16parents; his 3 brothers and 2 sisters-in-law and a
17brother-in-law, Donald and Gloria Manns, Harold and Marian
18Manns, Bob Manns, and "Doc" Graham; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Raymond Manns is survived by his wife, Helen; his
203 children and their spouses, Mary and Ken Wendle, Susan and

1Tom Rizzo, and Bill and Ann Manns; his sister, Rosemary Graham;
2his 8 grandchildren, TJ, Brian, and Brigid Wendle, Tony, Laura,
3and Amy Rizzo, and Evan and Claudia Manns; and many other
4relatives, friends, and neighbors; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Raymond C. Manns, and extend our sincere condolences to his
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Raymond Manns as an expression of
12our deepest sympathy.
