SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Dale E. Parsons of Galesburg, who passed
4away on February 5, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dale Parsons was born on July 6, 1932 to Russell
6F. and Margaret P. (nee Buchanan) Parsons; beginning at the age
7of 13, he was raised by Floyd and Louise Lindsey; he graduated
8from Bardolph High School in 1952; he married Carolyn McGinn on
9June 25, 1966 in Camp Grove; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Dale Parsons spent 40 years in the shoe and
11clothing retail business, owning Dale Parsons, Ltd. in Lacon
12from 1975 to 1979; he then served as Executive Director of the
13Stone-Hayes Center for Independent Living in Galesburg; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Dale Parsons was a member of Corpus Christi Roman
15Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus (4th Degree, Past
16Grand Knight, and Trustee), and the Knox County Board; he
17served with the Knox County Nursing Home Committee, the Highway
18Committee, the Knox County Housing Authority, the Boys and
19Girls Club of Knox County, the Carver Community Action Agency,
20and the Prairie Hill Resource Conservation Development
21Council; and

1    WHEREAS, Dale Parsons was preceded in death by his parents;
2his 4 brothers, Russell F. Parsons, Jr., Robert Lee Parsons,
3Charles Allan Parsons, and Larry Parsons, Sr.; and his sister,
4Donna Jean Parsons; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dale Parsons is survived by his daughter, Michelle
6L. Parsons; his son, Michael E. (Suzanne) Parsons; his
7grandsons, Patrick Parsons and Nicholas McMahill; his brothers
8and sisters, Don R. Parsons, Betty Louise Doll, Mary Lois
9Parsons, Sharon Ann Bean, and Judy Kay Tiffany; and several
10nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Dale E. Parsons, and extend our sincere condolences to his
14family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Dale Parsons as an expression of our
18deepest sympathy.
