SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Angela "Angie" Harlow who passed away on
4January 8, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Angela Harlow was born in North Chicago on January
613, 1925 to Anton and Frances Jesenovec; she married Melvin
7Harlow in 1974; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Angela Harlow worked in the office at the United
9States Envelope Company/Westvaco for 45 years, retiring in
101988; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Angela Harlow enjoyed traveling throughout the
12United States, but her favorite trips were the visits to her
13parent's homeland, the country of Slovenia, where she enjoyed
14the country's beauty and spending time with her relatives
15there; she spoke and wrote the language fluently; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Angela Harlow was a former member of Mother of God
17Church, where she sang in the choir for many years, and later
18joined Queen of Peace Church/Most Blessed Trinity Parish,
19continuing in the choir; she was involved in other church
20activities such as Bake Sales, Rummage Sales, and funeral
21luncheons; and

1    WHEREAS, Angela Harlow was a lifelong member of St. Mary
2#79 KSKJ (American Slovenian Catholic Union), where she served
3as an officer for over 35 years; she was active with the
4Greater North Chicago Senior Citizens' Club, the Steelworker's
5Retiree Club, and Senior Circle; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Angela Harlow was a true and loyal Chicago Cubs'
7fan, attending many home and away games throughout the years
8with her husband and her nieces and nephews; she also enjoyed
9following the Chicago Bulls, cheering them on from the comforts
10of home; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Angela Harlow was an avid bowler in her younger
12days, bowling in local leagues as well as tournaments; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Angela Harlow was preceded in death by her
14parents; her brother, Tony; and her sister, Frances; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Angela Harlow is survived by her husband, Melvin;
16her sister, Mary Chamernik; her sister-in-law, Evelyn Haas; and
17many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
19ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of
20Angela "Angie" Harlow, and extend our sincere condolences to

3    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
