SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Verlene "Doll" Mayo; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Verlene Mayo was born in Byhaline, Mississippi on
5April 21, 1940 to Haywood and Mentie Jones; she attended Dunbar
6High School and married Ivory Mayo in 1956; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Verlene Mayo enjoyed music and watching sci-fi and
8scary movies; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Verlene Mayo was preceded in death by her parents;
10her husband, Ivory; her daughter, Cassandra Mayo; her sister,
11Rosie Lee Street; and her 3 brothers, Haywood, Jr., Anthony,
12and Milton Jones; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Verlene Mayo is survived by her daughters, Sharron
14(Franklin), Margie (Darrell), Lisa, and Audrey; her sons,
15Robert, Keenan, and Gerrod; her grandchildren that she raised;
16her 21 other grandchildren, Jerica, Dhrarron, Germona,
17Chareese, Ronald, Martina, Laresa, Andrew, Kenneth, Tenille,
18Valentina, Piere, Clezella, Taisha, Robyn, Alisa, Danny, Jr.,
19Alicia, Tomika, Shankeka, and Dre Mar; over 60
20great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends;
21therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3Verlene "Doll" Mayo, and extend our sincere condolences to her
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
5further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of Verlene Mayo as an expression of our
8deepest sympathy.
