SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Mary Sandra "Sandy" Moser of Naperville,
4who passed away on December 22, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mary Moser was born in Quincy on October 3, 1936
6to Carl and Dolly Boltz; she graduated from Quincy Notre Dame
7High School, where she was involved in plays and musicals, the
8school paper, cheerleading, and was selected as Homecoming
9Queen; in 1958, she graduated from Mount Mary College in
10Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she continued her involvement in
11theater, and was involved in student government and the campus
12newspaper; she was recognized in Who's Who Among Students at
13American Colleges & Universities; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Following graduation, Mary Moser moved to Green
15Bay, Wisconsin and worked as a social worker for the Catholic
16Apostolate; she moved to Naperville in 1962 and married Jim
17Moser at SS. Peter & Paul Church; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Mary Moser moved to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1989 and
19opened the Backyard Inn Restaurant with her brother, Tim Boltz;
20she returned to Naperville in 2012; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Mary Moser volunteered for many organizations,

1including Catholic Daughters, Meals on Wheels, the Girl & Boy
2Scouts of America, the Naperville Little League, Saints Peter
3and Paul School, and Benet Academy; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Mary Moser enjoyed numerous outdoor activities,
5including skiing, fishing, and cheering on the Green Bay
6Packers; she also enjoyed traveling, card games, and spending
7time with her children and grandchildren; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Mary Moser was preceded in death by her brother,
9Tim Boltz; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Mary Moser is survived by her 4 children, Kate
11(Bob) Ontko, Matt, Mitch, and Porter (Megan) Moser; her 9
12grandchildren, Kelsey, Lara, and Porter Ontko, Kayla and
13Shannon Moser, and Jordan, Jake, Ben, and Max Moser; her
14brothers, Dan (Fran) Boltz and Porter (Joy) Boltz; her
15sister-in-law, Pat Boltz; her uncle, Jack Settle; and her
16nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it
 
17    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
18ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
19Mary Sandra "Sandy" Moser, and extend our sincere condolences
20to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be
21it further

3deepest sympathy.
