SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Andrew M. "Andy" Batchelor of Alton, who
4passed away on November 29, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Andrew Batchelor was born in Alton on October 20,
61949 to Clarence D. and Dorothy (nee Mitchell) Batchelor; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Andrew Batchelor was the owner and operator of
8Andy's Auto Body for over 40 years, retiring in 2007; in
9retirement, he began raising chickens and gardening produce,
10popcorn, and Christmas trees; he donated much of what he
11produced to the local crisis center to benefit those in need;
12and
 
13    WHEREAS, Andrew Batchelor was a former member of Cherry
14Street Baptist Church in Alton, a board member of the Boy
15Scouts of America, a trustee for Foster Township, and a regular
16volunteer in his community; he was a lifelong St. Louis
17Cardinals fan and was proud of his rural farm roots; he enjoyed
18writing and was a regular contributor to the Alton Telegraph;
19he also enjoyed spending time with his children and
20grandchildren; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Andrew Batchelor was preceded in death by his

1parents; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Andrew Batchelor is survived by his wife of 44
3years, Nancy (Miller); his 2 children, Jennifer (Troy) DeFranco
4and Mark (Tara) Batchelor; his 4 grandchildren, Madisyn and
5Devin DeFranco and Paige and Maggie Batchelor; his sister,
6Bonita (Marvin) Mosby; his 2 brothers, Stephen (Barbara)
7Batchelor and David (Dianna) Batchelor; his sister-in-law,
8Carol (Victor) Palomino; his brother-in-law, Gary Miller; his
9nieces and nephews, Christy (Robertson) and Michal Mosby,
10Stacey (Ripp), Dana (Redman) and Matt Batchelor, Tara and Aaron
11Batchelor, and Catye and Jeff Palomino; and many great nieces
12and nephews and extended family members; therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15Andrew M. "Andy" Batchelor, and extend our sincere condolences
16to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
17it further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Andrew Batchelor as an expression of
20our deepest sympathy.
