SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
775 ILCS 5/7-109.1  from Ch. 68, par. 7-109.1

    Amends the Illinois Human Rights Act. Provides that the Department of Human Rights shall administratively close specified types of charges that are pending before the Department if the issues that are the basis of the charge are being litigated in court or another administrative forum. Corrects a grammatical error.

1    AN ACT concerning human rights.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Illinois Human Rights Act is amended by
5changing Section 7-109.1 as follows:
 
6    (775 ILCS 5/7-109.1)  (from Ch. 68, par. 7-109.1)
7    Sec. 7-109.1. Administrative closure of charges Federal or
8State Court Proceedings.
9    (a) The Department may administratively close a charge
10pending before the Department if the issues that which are the
11basis of the charge are being litigated in a State or federal
12court proceeding.
13    (b) The Department shall administratively close a charge
14under Article 7A that is pending before the Department if the
15issues that are the basis of the charge are being litigated in
16court or another administrative forum.
