AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2264

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2264 by replacing
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4    "Section 5. The School Code is amended by changing Section
510-20.24 as follows:
 
6    (105 ILCS 5/10-20.24)  (from Ch. 122, par. 10-20.24)
7    Sec. 10-20.24. Part-time Attendance. To accept in
8part-time attendance in the regular education program of the
9district pupils enrolled in nonpublic schools if there is
10sufficient space in the public school desired to be attended.
11For the purposes of this Section, for 5 years from the
12effective date of this amendatory Act of the 99th General
13Assembly, allowing part-time attendance in the regular
14education program of the district shall include allowing
15resident pupils who are enrolled in nonpublic elementary
16schools to participate in those school-sponsored or

1school-supported athletic or extracurricular activities that
2are not selective with respect to who may join or participate,
3in which case the district may submit a report to the State
4Board of Education on the cost of having the nonpublic school
5students participate. Request for attendance in the following
6school year must be submitted by the nonpublic school principal
7to the public school before May 1. Request may be made only to
8those public schools located in the district where the child
9attending the nonpublic school resides.
10    To accept, pursuant to the provisions of Section 14-6.01,
11in part-time attendance resident pupils of the types described
12in Sections 14-1.02 through 14-1.07 who are enrolled in
13nonpublic schools.

15    Section 10. The Interscholastic Athletic Organization Act
16is amended by adding Section 1.20 as follows:
 
17    (105 ILCS 25/1.20 new)
18    Sec. 1.20. Reporting on communication with schools.
19    (a) On or before July 1, 2016, an association or other
20entity that has as one of its purposes promoting, sponsoring,
21regulating, or in any manner providing for interscholastic
22athletics or any form of athletic competition among elementary
23or secondary schools and students within this State shall
24report to the General Assembly on the association's or entity's

1efforts to communicate its rules to public and nonpublic
2schools in this State.
3    (b) This Section is repealed on July 1, 2017.
 
4    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
5becoming law.".
