AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1668

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1668, AS AMENDED,
3by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the
4following:
 
5    "Section 5. The Wildlife Code is amended by changing
6Section 2.5 as follows:
 
7    (520 ILCS 5/2.5)
8    Sec. 2.5. Crossbow conditions. A person may use a crossbow
9if one or more of the following conditions are met:
10        (1) the user is a person age 62 and older;
11        (2) the user is a handicapped person to whom the
12    Director has issued a permit to use a crossbow, as provided
13    by administrative rule; or
14        (3) the date of using the crossbow is during the period
15    of the second Monday following the Thanksgiving holiday
16    through the last day of the archery deer hunting season

1    (both inclusive) set annually by the Director; or .
2        (4) the user is 16 years old or younger hunting during
3    a youth hunting season or during the first week of a
4    regular hunting season.
5    As used in this Section, "handicapped person" means a
6person who has a physical impairment due to injury or disease,
7congenital or acquired, which renders the person them so
8severely disabled as to be unable to use a longbow, recurve
9bow, or compound bow. Permits must be issued only after the
10receipt of a physician's statement confirming the applicant is
11handicapped as defined above.
