| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Military Veterans Assistance Act is amended |
| 5 | | by changing Section 1 as follows:
|

The
The term "Overseer of military veterans |
| 8 | | assistance", as used in
this Act, shall be construed to mean |
| 9 | | all persons whose duty it is, under
the existing statutes, to |
| 10 | | care for, relieve or maintain, wholly or in part,
any person |
| 11 | | who may be entitled to such assistance under the statutes of |
| 12 | | the
State of Illinois. This Act shall not infringe upon the |
| 13 | | mandated powers and
authorities vested in the Illinois |
| 14 | | Department of Veterans' Affairs. |
