HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of the
4Naperville North High School Huskies girls cross country team
5on the occasion of winning the 2016 Illinois Class 3A High
6School Cross Country Championship; and
 
7    WHEREAS, On a sunny November day at Detweiler Park, the
8Huskies girls cross country team turned back a tough Yorkville
9team 111-130 to win their seventh team title in the history of
10the program; and
 
11    WHEREAS, The Huskies' championship victory was led by a
12sixth place overall finish from Sarah Schmitt, followed by
13tremendous races from Hannah Ricci (18th), Alex Morris (19th),
14Claire Hamilton (39th), and Gabby Champion (51st) to complete
15the team scoring; Claire Hill and Kayla Glowacki completed the
16team effort both by defeating the fifth runners of several
17teams; and
 
18    WHEREAS, All of the 2016 Huskies team members contributed
19to an outstanding championship season, including Sam Prazma,
20Jill Fitz, Sophie Bruce, Megan Driscoll, Kathryn Abe, Elise
21Chao, Julia O'Dekirk, Sarah Schmitt, Hannah Ricci, Alex Morris,
22Claire Hamilton, Gabby Champion, Claire Hill, and Kayla

1Glowacki; and
 
2    WHEREAS, The 2016 Huskies girls cross country team was
3coached to victory by Head Coach Dan Iverson and Assistant
4Coaches Anna Kraftson and Jen Weigand, and cheered on by all of
5the wonderful, supportive parents and fans; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
7NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
8congratulate the members of the Naperville North Huskies girls
9cross country team on winning the Illinois High School Class 3A
10State Championship and wish them great success and happiness in
11the future; and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the Naperville North Huskies girls cross country
14players and coaches as an expression of our esteem and respect.
