HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Jeffrey
4A. Lovett, who passed away on July 10, 2016, surrounded by his
5family; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Jeffrey Lovett was born in Temple, Texas to Donald
7Lovett and Carol Pulver on March 18, 1958; he attended Dixon
8High School, where he met his future wife, Lisa; the two were
9high school sweethearts and married in 1974 and had two amazing
10daughters, Heather and Sarah, who blessed him with four
11grandchildren, Haley, Lillian, Katherine, and Marianna; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Jeffrey Lovett graduated from Dixon High School in
131976 and continued his studies at Sauk Valley College, where he
14earned an Associate's Degree; he continued his education at
15Northern Illinois University graduating with a Bachelor of
16Science in Finance; and
 
17    WHEREAS, After the completion of his formal educational
18studies, Jeffrey Lovett entered the workplace as a loan officer
19for the State Bank of Paw Paw; in 1985, he began a new job at
20Dixon National Bank as an Assistant Vice-President in the loan
21department; and

1    WHEREAS, In 1992, Dixon National Bank was sold to AMCORE,
2and Jeffrey Lovett was made Senior Vice-President/Chief
3Lending Officer, a position he held until 1999 when he was made
4the President/Chief Operation Officer; and
 
5    WHEREAS, In 2010, Midland States Bank purchased the AMCORE
6banks that Jeffrey Lovett managed and named him one of three
7Regional Market Presidents, having oversight of the branches in
8Dixon, Freeport, Sterling, Rock Falls, Princeton, Peru, and
9Mendota; despite going through many name changes at various
10banks and companies, he was dedicated to his community; and
 
11    WHEREAS, While Jeffrey Lovett lived in Ashton, he served on
12the village board and was the President of the Ashton Lions
13Club; when he moved to Dixon, he continued his involvement with
14the Lions Club, serving as a past President; he also was
15involved with the Dixon YMCA and the Dixon Petunia Festival and
16was a board member of Sinnissippi Centers; he was involved with
17the Ronald Reagan Boyhood Home Preservation Foundation and
18served several terms as the President of the Belted Galloway
19Association; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Jeffrey Lovett was a lifelong student of history
21with a passion studying the Civil War and genealogy, a love and
22passion he shared with his two daughters, Heather and Sarah;
23and

1    WHEREAS, Jeffrey Lovett loved his family and cared deeply
2for his local community, frequently going out of his way to
3lend a hand to those in need; he will be dearly missed by his
4loving family, close friends, and his community; therefore, be
5it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
7NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
8mourn the passing of Jeffrey A. Lovett, and extend our sincere
9condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
10him; and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Jeffrey Lovett as an expression of
13our deepest sympathy.
