HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Sergeant Keith Walthall
4on the occasion of his retirement from the Chicago Police
5Department on July 15, 2015; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Sgt. Walthall served as a Sergeant and supervisor
7for the Chicago Police Department officers assigned to the
8Office of the Mayor and the Chicago City Council; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Sgt. Walthall began his career with the Chicago
10Police Department as a patrolman in 1985, serving the 5th
11District; he then moved to the 22nd District, where he ran one
12of the most successful youth Explorer's program in the city; in
131998, he was selected to Mayor Richard M. Daley's personal
14security detail; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Sgt. Walthall is a role model for the young women
16and men in the City of Chicago, such as his son, Michael, who
17has proudly followed his father's path and serves as an officer
18in the Chicago Police Department, and his grandson, Jaylen
19Walthall; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Sgt. Walthall has served for over 30 years with
21distinction, loyalty, and the admiration and respect of his

1fellow officers; therefore, be it
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
3NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
4congratulate Sergeant Keith Walthall on his retirement from the
5Chicago Police Department and we wish him the best in all his
6future endeavors; and be it further
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to Sgt. Walthall as an expression of our esteem and
9respect.
