HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The work of Illinois government requires constant
3efforts from many unrecognized individuals who keep the
4proverbial wheels of state turning; and
 
5    WHEREAS, The work of one such individual, Michelle "Babs"
6Davis, who, for 27 years has served the House of
7Representatives with intelligence and grace, certainly
8deserves our praise today, the final day of her duty to the
9House; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Michelle Davis began her career with the Illinois
11House of Representatives as a page in 1987, only a few years
12after graduating from Springfield's Sacred Heart Academy; she
13continued her work with us as an Administrative Assistant for
14the House Republican Policy Staff from 1988 to 1991; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Michelle Davis served as Legislative Assistant to
16State Representative Kathleen Wojcik from 1991 to 1999 and as a
17Legislative Aide to State Representative William Black from
182000 to 2009; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Michelle Davis also served as Legislative
20Assistant to State Representative Mike Bost from 2009 to 2014
21and worked with State Representative John Anthony following his

1entrance to the Illinois House; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Former State Representative and current United
3States Representative Mike Bost refers to Michelle Davis as the
4best secretary he ever had throughout his 20-year career in the
5General Assembly; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Congressman Bost and his wife, Tracy, wish to join
7the members of the Illinois House of Representatives and its
8staff in congratulating Michelle Davis on her outstanding
927-year career and wish her all the best as she continues her
10career in public service with the Illinois Department of
11Children and Family Services; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
13NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
14thank Michelle "Babs" Davis for her 27 years of hard work and
15service to the Illinois House of Representatives and wish her
16continued success in the next chapter of her public service;
17and be it further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to Michelle Davis as a symbol of our esteem and
20respect.
