SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
625 ILCS 5/12-209.5 new

    Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that a motorcycle may be equipped with auxiliary accent lights, including standard bulb running lights and light emitting diode pods and strips. Provides that the auxiliary accent lights shall not be red or white or oscillating, rotating, or flashing lights. Defines "auxiliary accent light".

1    AN ACT concerning transportation.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by adding
5Section 12-209.5 as follows:
 
6    (625 ILCS 5/12-209.5 new)
7    Sec. 12-209.5. Auxiliary accent lighting on motorcycles.
8    (a) A motorcycle may be equipped with any number of
9auxiliary accent lights, including standard bulb running
10lights and light emitting diode pods and strips of various
11colors.
12    (b) The auxiliary accent lights allowed under subsection
13(a) of this Section shall not be red or white or oscillating,
14rotating, or flashing lights.
15    (c) For the purposes of this Section, "auxiliary accent
16light" means any lighted lamp or illuminating device placed
17upon a motorcycle, other than head lamps, spot lamps, auxiliary
18driving lamps, signal lamps, or hazard warning lamps.
