SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
20 ILCS 105/4.16 new

    Amends the Illinois Act on the Aging. Provides that subject to appropriations, the Department on Aging may provide grants to public and private nonprofit entities for projects that demonstrate ways to integrate mental health services for older adults into primary health care settings, such as federally qualified health centers as defined in the Social Security Act, primary care clinics, and private practice sites. Grants the Department rulemaking authority.

1    AN ACT concerning State government.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Illinois Act on the Aging is amended by
5adding Section 4.16 as follows:
 
6    (20 ILCS 105/4.16 new)
7    Sec. 4.16. Integrated mental health services. Subject to
8appropriations, the Department on Aging may provide grants to
9public and private nonprofit entities for projects that
10demonstrate ways to integrate mental health services for older
11adults into primary health care settings, such as federally
12qualified health centers as defined in Section 1905 (1) (2) (B)
13of the Social Security Act, primary care clinics, and private
14practice sites. The Department may adopt any rules necessary to
15implement this Section.
